Ratheesh C. Nair

Ratheesh C. Nair, a native of Trivandrum had his education in Trivandrum and Russia (former USSR). Since 2000 he has been working as the Director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (Russian Cultural Centre) in Trivadnrum which is functioning under the Cultural Department of the Russian Embassy. He was appointed as the Honorary Consul by the government of Russia in 2008 and was recognised by the President of India on 28th day of May 2008. So far Ratheesh C. Nair received 5 medals including the prestigious Pushkin Medal from the Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ratheesh C. Nair is the editor of Novaya Vesna – The New Spring; a quarterly magazine dedicated to Indo-Russian relationship. He also writes columns in leading periodicals and produced the movie ‘Jeevan Mashai’ based on Tarasankar Banarjee’s Arogya Niketan.

After Completing MSc in Earth Sciences and Climate Sciences, students can work in different sectors like GIS, Metereorology, disaster management, wheather forecasting, regulatory agencies, Govt, academic and research positions within the country and abroad. Climate Sciences have more opportunities than earth sciences.
Sir.. Please suggest some good options after bsc zoology. Is msc environmental science good? What are the scopes?

MSc Embryology, Molecular biology, biotechnology, Biostatistics, Dairy Science, etc are good options. Environmental Science has more research opportunities.

B.Tech Cyber security and Cyberforensics has more career options than BSc Cyberforensics. If you are aiming for Civil services, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology or public administration may be the ideal choice rather than too technical courses.

Embryology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Forensic science, different speciality branches of zoology, environmental science, ecological studies, climate science, Biostatistics, biochemistry, biotechnology, dairy science, etc are some of the options.
Sir , I am a 4 th year student of medical course Pharm d( doctor of pharmacy) It’s a total 6 year course. And I would like to write UPSC exam on my 5th year that is in2022 . Can I write it on 2022?

After completing your internship you can write UPSC exams. I think you may not be able to write UPSC exam during 5 th year.But you can write CPT of Civil Services exam during final year.

It depends on your interest, aptitude and goal. You can do Msc in Chemistry and do research in potential areas in chemistry, environmental engineering, toxicology, etc. Otherwise you can do courses related to Cybersecurity, data analytics, data science, banking, management, etc. You can try for Civil Services, KAS, Bank, Insurance or CGL examinations. Biostatistics, Dairy Chemistry, Nano sciences, etc are also good for you based on your interest.

Currently you must try to continue your degree course. Then you can join for MBA programme in Sports management. Never try to drop the courses. Degree is mandatory for MBA admission. Lot of institutions are offering sports management programmes. Selection is based on CAT, NMAT, KMAT, GMAT, etc.

Currently MBA Homeland security is getting emerged as a job role in India. Try to do Cybersecurity or Cyber forensic courses along with this to get better positions in the private sector. Govt sector positions are very limited.

Astrophysics researchers can work in research institutions and Universities. They can do theoretical research, fundamental and applied research. Astrophysics and quantum computing has lot of ramifications and opportunities across the World. Some of the best institutions for pursuing astrophysics include IIST, Trivandrum, IISER, NISER, Indian institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, TIFR, Mumbai, Osmania University, etc. Students who are interested bin Astrophysics can pursue with BSc Physics/ Integrated MSc in Physics/MSc in Astrophysics and register for PhD in India or abroad.

Currently Agriculture has more academic and research opportunities. Covid 19 created lot of opportunities for sustainable food production across the country and abroad. Lot of technologies are emerging in this sector. Agriculture graduates can work in public sector, agri business firms, banks, insurance sectors, agri analytics, etc. Post graduates can work in academic institutions or pursue research abroad. BSc Agriculture, BVSc& AH, BSc Forestry, etc are good courses.
