About the course

The history of mathematics is nearly as old as humanity itself. Soon after the development of language, humans began simple counting - and fingers and thumbs acted as nature's abacus. Later on, their imagination and logic lead to the evolution of simple counting, measurements, calculations, systematic study of the shapes, motions of physical objects, and finally moulded the complex and abstract discipline that we know today as Mathematics.

Mathematics is a way of thinking and a way of organizing a logical proof. It is a wide branch of science which includes arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and calculus. If and when Mathematics is removed, the backbone of our material civilization would collapse. So is the importance of Mathematics and its Pedagogies.
