KEAM 2017 - Exam

Summary

The Commissionerate of Entrance Examinations (CEE) is conducting nine distinct Entrance Examinations for admission to Professional Courses every year: Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Degree (KEAM), Three year LLB , Five year LLB, LLM, PG Ayurveda, PG Homoeo, PG Nursing, PG Medical and Super Specialty. The Commissionerate is also making allotments to KEAM, Three year LLB, Five year LLB, LLM, PG Dental and PG Medical courses. The allotments are made through a Single Window System of the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP).
 

Candidates can apply for KEAM exam through online mode. KEAM online registration has been started from 1st February 2017 till 9th March 2017 (extended). After filling the form completely, candidates have to take the printout of the KEAM 2017 Online Application and send it to the below address:

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 50 % marks in Mathematics/Biology separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology put together are eligible for admission to the seats reserved for Dairy Farm Instructors of Dairy Development Department for B.Tech. (Dairy Technology). However, the candidates admitted to the course have to take a make-up course in Basic Mathematics (2+0) credits or Applied Biology (1+1) credit as the case may be.

Domicile Eligibility:

  • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
  • Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/ Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are also eligible to apply.
  • Students looking for admissions in professional courses will be categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite Category I and Non-Keralite Category II.

Qualification Eligibility:

  • For Medical courses: candidates must have passed higher secondary or equivalent exam with securing 50% marks in biology/biotechnology individually and 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology/biotechnology together
  • For B.Tech courses: applicants should have cleared 12th or equivalent exam with obtaining at least 50% marks in mathematics individually and 50% marks together in physics, chemistry & mathematics.

Age Eligibility:

  • Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years as or on 31st December of the year of admission.
  • There is not any provision of upper age limit.
  • Age relaxation in the minimum age will not be permitted.

Exam analysis

The relative weightage of each test is in the ratio of 5:3:2 in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in engineering entrance exam. For engineering stream, two papers will be conducted. Paper 1 for Physics & Chemistry and Paper II for Mathematics.
 
Each question paper will be of two hours and 30 min duration. The pattern will comprise of the multiple choice type questions. Candidates will be scored four marks for each correct answer in the Engineering. One mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer.
